Week 5 EOC

The internet today as we know is one of the most tools in the world for such tasks, as work, gathering information, the news, and multiple other assignments. Though it is a reliable tool to use for almost anything you could do it also has its challenges especially in the modern times. One of the biggest legal issues with the internet is our privacy.
Privacy in simple terms is information or activity you withheld from the public. The public doesn’t know about what you do other than what you normally do such as work. On social media, you can have the option to privatize certain information that you think can be tampered with by others. Such information such as a phone number, email address, or relationships can be private and never revealed to the public. Based on J. J Britz, he says that technology such the internet are hazards to anybody for their privacy.  He tends to try to legally revert and enforce some acts to our privacy to make absolute sure that our privacy is guaranteed to never be seen or altered.
Another legal issue with internet is how children explore it. It is quite a challenge to actually handle how children explore the web since the internet is becoming a part of our culture in the modern times. There isn’t really any practical solution for children to avoid mature content but there has been website blocks in schools such gaming sites, social media, and porn sites.
One other annoying issue with the modern internet is spam. Spam congest networks making them difficult to read also they can cause viruses to your computer or laptop not only those problems but it makes you trust the internet a little less. Internetsociety.org tries to figure a way out to try to reduce the number of spam on a website and improve the internet. The organization has developed a project to combat spam. They also want an effective law that deals with spam and how to fight it.

EOC Week 4 Copyrights

Definition of Copyright from Google
Copyright is the exclusive legal right that is given to an originator or an assignee to either print, publish, perform, film, record literacy, artistic, musical material, and to authorize others to do the same. It gives the creator or authorthe right to reproduce their work, gear up for other works, create copies of the work for profit and the profit goes to you only, perform the work publicly, and display your protected work publicly without anybody taking the idea.
Original works are protected under the constitution of the U.S. and also granted by the law. The works of authorship are fixed in a binding medium of expression. Both published and unpublished work are both protected by copyright. Copyright protects any kind of work created and fixed in a binding form that is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine, device, or written material. For any material to be fully protected by copyright you must have the copyright symbol, your name, and the year when it was created. The instant the registration for copyright is on your work then it is instantly protected. Copyright does not protect ideas, concepts, facts, or techniques. It only protects the work from the idea.
For anyone who wants to use your work for their own personal or presentable use, they have purchase the rights for your work and they cannot do the near same work as the one as yours. They can still use your work but it has to be used for some other work and not the exact same as yours.
Definiton of Patent from google

EOC Week 3 Erin Brockovich

Julia Roberts starred in the blockbuster box office hit Erin Brockovich. The movie was actually based on a true story back then in the year 2000. Erin Brockovich was actually a real person and the inspiration behind the whole film since the beginning. Erin wasn’t at the Shrine Auditorium to celebrate Julia on the film, she was instead somewhere else housing a sick child. Erin was a mother who had gone through divorce twice. Roberts also didn’t thank her for the real life inspiration for the film. In the real world problems Erin was in a mess with her first ex-husband for many problems also adding to that she was being sued by her second ex-husband for defamation. So three interesting things came up from out of this. The movie was inspired by someone based on actual events that were happening at the same time during the making of the movie which is really amazing. Erin was having miserable time of her own with her two ex-husbands, one she was having serious problems and other was suing for defamation. The movie was still on the same page like Erin for the movie since she gave the inspiration behind the whole film in the first place. I find the whole concept of both the film making and event partaking and converging together that brought out the movie. The film was shot at the town where Erin lived and that adds more to the events and also the inspiration. PG&E actions in the film were also real. The story behind the hazardous chromium was true and the people in the town were drinking contaminated water and in real life. The movie also gave Julia a sense of uncomfortable to people because how she acted in the film but it was her choice to do for she wanted to have fun with it.

EOC 2 Supreme Court

The Supreme Court as of in late 2013 opens up a new term during a government shutdown. Even with the shutdown affecting the country, the Court will run normally until the end of week since its new term beginning in the first Monday of October. The term will be rather short for Supreme Court due to battles over Health Care and Gay marriage.
Supreme Court has had states where they despise them for them denying rights for same sex marriage also abortion. Supreme Court has unfinished business to deal with in their new term. They have major issues with college and who’s allowed in it also the government denying health benefits to married gay couples.
One other is the government dealing with elections more specifically the ones who had a history of discrimination towards African-Americans. The court now in its new term is still refusing to adopt for itself the ethical code that they enforce. The U.S. judges under the Code of Conduct are instructed to maintain their own independence by acting either without fear or favor.
Judges from now on have to disqualify themselves from cases for which involve them and their family who have the same personal interest. It also helps with them to disclose their personal finances. Some members of Supreme Court have followed the Code of Conduct, but they have resisted calls that the court adopt it and create a sort of mechanism to enforce it.

The justice is left with the decision for him or her to disqualify themselves from a case, it’s on them to whether leave or go along with the case. They can be openly and also associated with political issues or candidates. Supreme Court has many major issues to deal with for the people and the country.

EOC 1 My Voice

My name is Ian Galdamez. I’m currently attending the Art Institutes in Las Vegas, Nevada to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. Visual Effects and Motion Graphics in simple terms is pretty much creating your own backgrounds and animated worlds. They are both equal but perform their own tasks and have their own specified job to do. Visual Effects takes actual photos or videos and try to mix up the background with engineered imagery. In simple terms you can take the city of Vegas, put a normal sunny day and turn the entire city into a snow valley also adding to that you can give a running video and change up the picture to something else like give it bright happy look or give a suspenseful dull as in moody scenery. That is what adds to amazement for Visual effects. It is making an image or video seem much more appealing and giving it something to live up for besides just the image. It is all based on the picture of a film or the video. Motion Graphics focuses on logos and writing, you can take a regular font and get creative and make it something unique like create a font for something like a happy fun time show or create a font for a creepy place or movie and make it suit the title. Logos also have potential for the title of the movie. It gives its identity for the movie and title because nobody wants a dull simple title, they want a logo that can catch your attention, and surprise you. It’s all about being creative and doing something new. The commercials we see for movies in my opinion are about capturing your attention to the film and it’s the scenery and atmosphere of the movie that does it. You can thank Visual Effects for the scenery of the movie and motion graphics for the title and anything else based on it. Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. Terms and definitions here: www.agencypost.com/visual-effects-vfx-vs-motion-graphics/. Something new appeared from the VFX news also I found out out about it. A new kind of engine for VFX called Monster Gt is proclaimed to be one of a kind, fast, and remarkable for their graphics and design. The effects that comes from the engine are the ability to stylize the effects such as nightvision or brush. The feature to warp and distort the visual effects. For background or specialized effects, Gt includes fluid particles and dynamics such as fire, rain, puddles, smoke, snow, and etc. Site here for terms and insight on the Monster Gt Engine: http://www.genarts.com/software/monsters-gt/overview

Visual effects and motion graphics today is used in our everyday lives. It is everywhere from our TVs, our game systems, our phones, our city lifestyle and anything in between. It’s what gives our blockbuster movies such an amazing picture and the great design that is used for it. Same goes for TV, our TV are redefined and renewed with new shows with stunning graphics and great atmosphere added to the show and in the episodes. Visual effects and motion graphics shape our society to how it is. It reshapes our culture for entertainment. Personally for me I like to enjoy on what comes out of it. Being able to make the image much more phenomenal than it seems with just some changes.
